FAQ
Do I need to know git?
No, if you’re editing content through the admin. Every publish happens to be a git commit under the hood, but the admin’s own history view presents it as a simple, browsable list with one-click restore — no command line involved. Knowing git is only relevant if you’re building the theme or hosting the site yourself.
What if a theme doesn’t define any page templates?
Creating a new page just starts blank — the template picker step in Creating & editing pages simply doesn’t appear. Page templates are an optional convenience a theme can offer, not something every theme is required to have.
Can two people edit the same page at once?
They can both open it, but Minamo will stop the second publish from silently overwriting the first — see the conflict handling described in Drafts, preview & publishing.
What image and video formats can I upload?
JPG, PNG, GIF and WebP images, and MP4 or WebM video for short background clips. SVG is deliberately rejected — see Media library for why, and talk to your developer if you need one added to the theme directly.
If I move or rename a page, do old links break?
No. Moving or renaming a page updates every link to it on your own site to the new URL, and adds a redirect from the old URL for everyone else — bookmarks, search results, other websites. Deleting a page first shows what links to it, and can redirect its URL to another page. See Browsing & organising pages.
Can a developer work on the site on their own computer?
Yes. npm run pull copies the live site’s content, images and theme onto their computer, and npm run push puts their changes live without overwriting anything editors changed in the meantime. See Pull, push & upgrading.
